What it is, and what it is for
ROCKSOLAR RSSP60 60 W Foldable Solar Panel
A 60 W folding solar charger with an adjustable kickstand, sized to recharge a ROCKSOLAR Weekender or Adventurer power station in a day of good sun and to run phones, tablets and a laptop directly from its USB ports at camp. Folded it is the size of a large laptop at 5.6 lb.
The panel charges straight from its own ports: a USB-C PD port and a QC 3.0 USB-A port for phones, tablets and laptops, a second USB-A port, and an 18 V DC barrel output for a ROCKSOLAR power station or, through the supplied MC4 adapter, a 12 V battery via a charge controller. Monocrystalline cells on a PET laminate give 20 percent or better conversion; on a heavily overcast day expect 20 to 30 percent of the rating, enough to keep a phone alive. The fabric case is splash-proof to IPX4, with four carabiners to hang it from a pack, a tent or a rail.
The kickstand tilts the panel from flat to upright so it faces the sun instead of the sky, which is worth 20 to 40 percent more over a day than laying it flat; a 60 W panel in good sun delivers roughly 200 to 300 Wh. For pocket electronics only, the 30 W panel is half the weight. Unfolded 1,275 × 415 × 30 mm (50 × 16 × 1.2 in); folded 415 × 370 × 45 mm (16 × 15 × 1.8 in); 2.55 kg (5.6 lb). In the box: the panel, a 10 in connector cable, a 78 in DC 5.5 × 2.1 mm cable, MC4 adapter, four carabiners and the manual. 1-year warranty.
