About this product

What it is, and what it is for

ROCKSOLAR Z-Bracket Mount, set of 4

Four Z-shaped brackets with the bolts, nuts and washers to fix one rigid solar panel flat to a surface: an RV or van roof, a shed or garage roof, a boat hardtop or a home-made wooden frame. One set holds one panel; order a set per panel.

The bracket bolts through the panel's frame at the top and screws or bolts to the roof at the bottom, leaving about an inch of air gap under the panel for cooling. Seal every roof penetration with a lap sealant or butyl tape, and land the screws in a rafter or a solid roof member, not in sheet metal alone. Z-brackets fix a panel flat with no tilt; if you want the panel angled, look at a tilt mount instead.

This is a fixing kit for single panels, not a racking system: there are no rails and no span, so it is not a substitute for the rail-and-clamp racking on a house roof. Mounting is for reference; on a permanent installation a licensed electrician should confirm the fixings.

Common questions

Before you order.

If yours isn't here, ask an engineer. It costs nothing and it's the step most people skip.

What if I'm not sure this is the right product?

Ask before you order. Send us what you need to run, or your pool or well figures, and an engineer will confirm the choice — it costs nothing. Or use the finder below, which sizes from what you actually run and shows its reasoning.
